So then it comes down to how to get views and drive traffic to your site or Youtube Channel. This is where it gets interesting. Sure there is a possibility that you can become a Youtube sensation such as Michelle Phan and put up one video and get over 300,000 likes that same night, but let's face it, it's almost like winning the lottery.
Then you have those people who go out and purchase a really nice DSLR camera and start recording a video thinking because the quality of this video is good, that it will drive a lot of Youtube visitors to subscribe to your channel.
And then the most novice of them all, people think that they can post a unique interesting video that no one has ever done on Youtube and suddenly it becomes viral just like that !
Okay so I'm not going to sit here and say it never happens on Youtube, but I can tell you that the likelihood of you posting an extremely great video, and getting million of views immediately is small. So what does it really take? Well here's my take on this subject being that I started a Youtube channel 2 months ago. Here are some things you shouldn't rely on:
1) Your Expensive Camera
2) Your awesome catchy description
3) Your editing skills
4) Your super awesome choice of music
5) Your unbelievable stunts in the video
6) Your looks
7) Your personality
Okay so I know you are wondering like, what in the world are you talking about, all of those things are very important on Youtube in order to get views. But let me make one thing very clear!!! Those things will matter once your rank goes up on Youtube. What does that mean?? Basically if you are a new member of the youtube community, it doesn't matter if you have a video of Miley Cyrus on a Chicken Butt, it will not get views until people CAN FIND YOUR CHANNEL!
So what is the number one MOST IMPORTANT thing to consider first is ..... making sure people can FIND YOU. Okay so now you are wondering how does that work. Well I'm going to say this, if you are not willing to put in the ground works, you won't get any return. You need to establish good communication skills on all the Social Media Networks and constantly advertise and promote your new video, whether it is about Nails, Makeup, Shoes, whatever. This means putting a link to your Youtube Video on every single social media platform there is. Sure your thinking like, well I don't have any followers. Go GET some, go ask people to follow you, follow them as well, ask them to follow you back. If you want a piece of the pie, you have to ask people to cut you in.
The more social media networks you are on, the more people that can find you on the search engines, or share your videos to other communities. So does this mean you can make a crappy video and hope that people will watch it because your good at socializing? NO!, you need to make a solid video, the kind of video that you think people want to see, and you would be proud of yourself for making it, and then go begging for views.
Now you are probably thinking, begging? Yes begging, if you want to be on top, you have to climb through the hay stacks and willing to put in the work. If you want this to be about luck, you should of been born into the Hilton Family. So no, nothing is made for you, you have to make it yourself. Alright so I'm going to link an example of what I think a beauty video should be like. This is a video I have created with lots of thought, editing and man hours. It's only 2 minutes, and I say this proudly because the majority of your audience will not last more than 15 seconds watching you. If you want more tips, you are welcome to subscribe to my channel, follow me on all of the Wendiness Social Media sites on my youtube page. My Youtube Channel is : Wendiness.
Last but not least grasshoppers, put in the work and you will get the reward, I'll write another blog later about Search Engine Optimization. Stay tune for my updates on this beauty blog. In the mean time, kick back and watch my nail tutorial video for ideas :).
