New Asian Beauty Guru 2013 - Wendiness

Surprisingly a lot of Asian Beauty Gurus on Youtube do not actually make any asian inspired makeup tutorials. From this aspect, I decided to embrace my Asian Culture and started my youtube journey as an Asian Inspired Makeup Youtuber.

Some of you don't know me or have never heard of me, that's ok, this is why I've created this blog. I've seen a whole lot of questions on google asking if anyone know a new asian beauty guru? Or if someone can recommend a cute asian beauty guru. And then there's the questions of who's the best Asian Beauty guru?

So I'm thinking, hey pick me pick ! Instead of me signing up and responding to other posts, I decided to just make this blog about me today. Hi I'm Wendiness, if you have watched any of my youtube videos, you know that I am a Asian Beauty Guru that likes to make cinematic type of videos. Some of you are probably saying, what in the world do you mean cinematic? Well my videos consists of a lot of man hours of editing, camera angle changing, prop setting, scene picking, and after all that is done, the video is like usually under 3 minutes. Oh and did I forget to mention voiceovering.

So unlike other beauty gurus, the amount of time for me to put out a video is much longer than the average beauty guru and that is because it takes me forever to get the video just like how I wanted. I want the editing to be perfect, the scenes, the lighting, the mood ...everything. I'm so picky. Here are a couple video of mine that are both under 2 minutes long, but literally took a long time to recreate.

Being a New Youtube Beauty Guru is not just about putting out perfect videos and using a nice camera, as I've said time and time again, if it were just that easy, we all would be an instant success. For me, it takes a lot more effort than that. But you can read my blog article on this when you have time.

I really just came on here to offer people an option, since a lot of people are looking for new asian beauty gurus to follow, I thought I would tell you about me. Anyway, if you would like to checkout my channel. I'll leave the links below.

Does Promoting on Youtube Work ?

I think everyone that has a Youtube video at some point is thinking of how to promote their videos and drive traffic to their channel. While 50% of the people that are actually thinking of doing it, but probably only another 30% of that is willing to pay for it. Depending on the category and videos you are uploading, the average CPC could be anywhere between $0.05 cents to over $1.00 dollar. Now for small businesses and up and coming youtubers, this may seem  like a small amount, but when you are thinking about in terms of per views statistics, it can be very expensive.

How long Should you promote on Youtube

Depending on the category you are in, I would say you need to aim for being the first 1-3 page of youtube in your niche. If you type in "How to be a beauty guru" in the search results, I would see how many people come up in the first 3 pages of those exact same words and see the number of those views for those channels. If you are looking for an average, I would say 3,000 views or more would probably give you a good start assuming that there are not a lot of people making these videos matching the same exact description. Once you have hit the average views in the niche you are promoting, then the video should be able to be discovered on it's own.

How Much Should I Invest on Promoting My Video

Try starting off with promoting at $25.00, and see if you have any immediate results, if you do, then you can continue until you have the met the amount of views you are expecting and if you have the budget to do so.

Has promoting work for me?

Yes, absolutely, My views went from " a Nobody care" to "wow this is a popular" video immediately. I made this simple tutorial and I started to notice it was getting more views by the hour. I woke up in my nap one day, and I was shocked how many views I got. I think promoting in general works for anyone and everyone, but you have to be sure that the video is good and it will drive someone to watch it again. One person might accidentally click on it to be curious, but if that person likes the video, they may save it and watch it later or share on their social media networks. Having 1 viewer does not mean having 1 view, that person might turn around and watch your video for 5- 10 times.

Here's an example of an video of mine that received very well responses.

New Cosmetics 2013

New Cosmetics 2013

At the top of the list is definitely Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

The Naked 3 has been at the top of every virtue online shop there is in the history of Online Makeup. It's so popular because this Naked 3 Palette has many rose tones that was never before seen in the other Naked Palettes that previously released. What can you say, Urban Decay's Naked 3 is the most anticipated makeup product on the market. The first 2 Naked editions were so popular, people came back for more, this time around the holidays, the majority of the online retail stores are trying to entice their consumers by advertising Naked 3 is back in stock.

Naked 3 is back in stock ... these are the words you want to hear, and receive email alerts for when you are an makeup lover, addict or collector. Naked 3 has even bystanders who are not familiar with makeup wondering if they should spend the 50 bucks in order to get the most talked about makeup of 2013.

Major retailers such as Sephora, Ulta sales are all going up because the majority of the people coming in to purchase Naked 3 will probably purchase something else. They have on-line advertisement, in store logos and and even newly reduced sales on other items to draw the consumer in. I would say Naked 3 is the like new Xbox one in the makeup world.

Stretch Marks on Thighs

For as long as I could remember, I've had embracing stretch marks on my Thighs. Something that worked for me to reduce the appearance of them over time are different kinds of stretch mark creams.  Like most women, you usually get stretch marks for excessive weight loss, or through pregnancy. For me, it wasn't really any of them. I just had stretch marks because my skin is very soft and thin. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone.

First in order to get rid of stretch marks, you have to know what it is. I've gathered here a small introduction to what is causing the stretch mark problem.

Your thighs are one of the classic places where stretch marks form, and it can be very difficult to rid yourself of them. You will want to consider various treatments, depending upon the severity, color and size of the stretch marks. These streaks, ranging from white and silver to red and purple, are indicative that the collagen in the epidermis has broken down, typically due to the hormonal fluctuations that come with rapid weight gain and pregnancy.

There are a number of ways that stretch marks can attack. One of the funny places is on Thighs.

The skin is very fragile in this area, and the collagen elasticity can change significantly. But If you use several creams on the market, it can definitely improve the appearance of stretch marks. For the most part, you have to be willing to take care of yourself and do the necessary preventions today before it gets consistently worse. For me, I used creams 3 times a day on all the affected areas, and this does help to hide them better. Leave your comments below and tell me what has worked for you?

What is a Sephora VIB Card?

Really curious what the whole Sephora VIB sales are about, I've heard so much about it but just have no clue what are the benefits of being a Sephora VIB member, can anyone help me answer this question?

Feel Free to leave a comment in the section below. Thank you.

I mean, I understand how to obtain the VIB status, but what do I really get?

Keep your membership by spending $350 at a Sephora store, sephora.com, sephora.ca, or in a Sephora inside JCPenney within a calendar year (January-December). VIB status is good for the calendar year in which the BI member qualifies and the following calendar year; annual requalification is required.

Bare Minerals - What's in it?

"How do you DEFINE a brand that’s based on a feeling?
Love. Understanding. Community. That’s what Bare Escentuals represents. It’s a trusted source. It’s the belief that products can actually be good, makeup can be fun, business can be personal and companies can behave more like communities.
It’s an optimistic outlook shared by women everywhere who believe that while makeup can’t change the world, it can change people. And people who are inspired can make all the difference.
It began when we asked women to imagine a makeup that would actually change the way they feel about their skin and themselves. We encouraged women to take a leap and try something so unique, so unlike anything they’ve experienced before. We started the idea that makeup could actually be considered skincare, and we got people talking. A makeup that could be good for you? The Bare Escentuals community was born. We became friends with our customers, forging deep, personal connections simply by listening and sharing stories.
It became less about makeup and more about what really matters."
Okay so this is the about section of the Bare Minerals Website stating what they are really representing. I remember walking past these booths and stores in the mall a few years back, and suddenly it became a big deal. Now they have this new line called Buxom. I am so in love with the Buxom eye shadow, I feel that this eye shadow is out of this world good.
I feel like that commercial where the man says "I can't believe it's not butter". For me, Bare Mineral's Buxom eyeshadow line is like I can't believe it's eye shadow, it blends like the smoothest thing I've ever encountered. The smallest amount goes a long way, in fact I love this product so much, I made a video demo on how this stuff goes on your eyes.

Beauty Guru Difficulties

Okay ladies, so I'm back making another post about some of the difficulties of being a successful beauty guru. I did a similar post on this subject earlier on my tumblr page, if you don't know my tumblr page, I'll link it below. Alright, so Here it goes.

1) People finding my Youtube Channel

2) Getting views and subscribers

3) Making Quality video consistently

4) Getting top Youtube Gurus to work with you

5) Getting likes and comments

6) Giveaways Issues

7) Promoting Your Channel

People Finding my Youtube Channel
Nowadays, it's not what you put on your youtube, it is how you are ranked in searches. Yes anyone can put the exact same title and the exact same video that might have gotten one person 1 billion views, but why is that when you do everything the exact same way, you can't even reach 10% of that. It all boils down to Youtube ranking, if your still at the bottom, it doesn't matter what video you put on your channel, or how you have stolen someone else's videos on their channel, it just doesn't matter.

Getting Views and Subscribers
Sure, it might sound easy, but more people are more likely to unsubscribe to your channel than subscribe, you literally have to ask people to come subscribe to you. Especially if you are asking another Youtube Guru, if they feel that they are above you, they won't give you the time of the day.

Making Quality Videos Consistently
Yes we all would like to commit to making one video a week, just like we promised to diet before Thanksgiving so we can fit into the jeans, but realistically you probably will make one video every two weeks. Especially if you are an editing freak like me, I have to make sure all my editing is crispy and clean and the shots come out gorgeous, speaking of that, here's one of the recent videos I did.

Getting Top Youtube Guru's to Work with You
This is really hard, I'm not going to sugar coat it, once someone becomes famous on youtube, they feel that they don't need to contact or respond to everyone that message them or ask for their help, and you should pretty much expect that you will be ignored. However there are people that will come up with great ideas to swap gifts or hauls with their favorite youtuber to grab their attention and mention them in their videos. But do you have this kind of budget and time?

Getting Likes and Comments
comments are wonderful to have because it creates a discussion, and you can be top on the discussion list and generate more viewers. Likes also help in ranking your video and driving traffic to your channel, but negative likes can also punish you.

Giveaway Issues
Okay so this method is pretty effective being that people always want free stuff, whether they like your channel or not or click on your video, they are mostly interested in giveaways and whatever you ask them to do. But is it necessary to have them do a million things before they can enter a giveaway, why would you want subscribers that are only subscribed because it's a contest rule?

Promoting your Channel
I can't stress more enough how hard it is to promote your channel in the right places, with the right words, and the reaching the right audience. When I first started, I constantly went on all my social media networks to promote, promote and promote until I can do no more without spamming people's pages. If you truly want to be on the top, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get there.

Success is not a walk in the park, nothing is handed to you, you have to earn it, and being a beauty guru is very difficult because there are so many people that want to be exactly just that, a beauty guru on youtube. What makes you so different, is it your looks? your hair? I say looks has nothing to do with it, if people can't find you, you don't exist in the internet community. So communicating with people and promoting your video is the key reason why many people have the amount of views that they do. Checkout some of my work.
